When I need business information support I head for the William P. Faust Westland Public Library. They are deeply engaged in the community and have assisted me with my work in literacy.

Grew up here and I wouldn't have it any other way. Most of the staff are incredibly friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Lots of programs to get the community involved, summer reading programs for all ages, and it's very easy to be directly involved in choosing what is bought. In the back there is a nice fireplace with couches and tables and chairs and chess boards. In the very front, there is the Friends Shop where you can find paperbacks for 25-50 cents and hardcovers for $1 (though they almost anyways have a buy 2 get 1 free deal), and they take donations a couple days a week.

They don't have enough studying seating. The minuscule amount of tables are always filled and its hard to find a free spot. I've never had a problem with the children's staff they are actually awesome, but the regular staff seems bitter sometimes. You can definitely tell when they are having a bad day. I have had to dispute charges on my account multiple times and even show proof of paying fines. The children computer monitors are better quality than the entire computer lab they offer for adults and the furniture is outdated and creeky. They def. need to make some improvements since they are no longer expanding.

Called and was on hold for over 15 min. And still no one came to the phone.

My opinion is this is not a nice library. The environment is drab and unwelcoming. The children's area (toy area) is not clean. Most of the staff is nice, however there is a man that works at the desk; walking in, it is clear he doesn't enjoy his job and makes sure if you encounter him that you are aware. This is the same person that hung up on me for questioning a policy. Overall I would not recommend this library. However, they do have a large selection of books, a lot of computers, and the children's music class is nice. Maybe my experiences there are abnormal but I don't find it enjoyable.
